Rachel Rice - Big Brother 9

Rachel is the winner of big brother 9,although she had been leading all the internet polls,the fact that Mikey was nowhere in these polls,but favourite with the bookies suggested that the casual viewer would probably plump for the sympathy vote and vote Miikey. As it turned out it was the closest final yet with Rachel getting 51% of the final vote.

It was a victory for honesty,kindness,decency,and altruism,traits which are derided in our society,not only derided but looked upon with suspicion when someone like Rachel exhibits these traits,but well done Rachel for not bowing to peer pressure and remaining true to yourself throughout 13 weeks of intense pressure from your fellow house mates and the occasional spanner from big brother.

It was a shame such a great night for Rachel was spoilt by Davina,who clearly wasn’t happy at Rachel being acclaimed the winner,never have i seen such coldness and malice towards a house mate since her interview with Makosi.

During her interview Davina told us that Rachel who had sat on the fence in the house (Not true but i will move on for now),would then go in the diary room and bitch her fellow house mates,on the main show she used the word “opinion” but on big brother big mouth she said “bitch” .

Did she offer up any examples? No,thats because there are no examples,but Davina thinks if she keeps repeating it enough times people will believe it. Rachel answered her, rather shocked at the suggestion saying that if for example she was asked in the house who would be evicted,she wouldn’t answer as she would be affraid of hurting someones feelings,but answering big brother in the diary room didn’t matter.

Does Davina watch the show or has she too been influenced by the spin and lies, Luke put on Rachel in the house?

Things went from bad to worse on big mouth when Davina put Rachel on the spot saying that Rex and Darnell had a conversation saying whoever wins should split the money four ways,implying that Rachel should split it four ways,there was a very awkward silence as Rachel looked confused and almost obligated,Davina dithered trying to change the subject,knowing that if Rachel agreed it would look like she had bullied her into the decision. Rex and the other house mates saved Davina as they were motioning to her, not to agree to it,Rachel eventually agreed to give 10.000 to charity.

It was an awkward couple of minutes where Davina played on Rachel’s sense of fair play,and doing the right thing,Darnell eventually was given the mic and he said that she should spend it however she wants.

Davina has been a poor presenter of big brother all series,even tonight she was only really interested in the Darnell/Sara will they won’t they,perhaps she should go back to Gods Gift or Streetmate.

Hopefully she won’t be presenting big brother next year,Chavina as shes known, certainly showed her true colours tonight,and it wasn’t a pretty sight.

So again,well done Rachel,you won in spite of “most” of your fellow house mates,in spite of Davina,in spite of channel 4,continually promoting you as boring,or non opinionated,ultimately you won because the British public saw what Channel 4 and Davina didn’t see and thats YOU.

We are in the final week,and its still wide open in terms of who is going to win,in fact there has never been such an open final week as this,by this stage its usually one,or one from two,but this year,every one left bar Sara and Mo (They could be the two to be evicted Tuesday) has a chance of winning.

Lisa was evicted in the closest eviction yet,with only 15 minutes to go it was 50/50,but with a late flurry of votes in favour of Sara,it was Lisa that got the chop.

It seems Darnell and Rex did Sara a favour afterall,as it was their reaction to her and her flirting with Darnell that got her the sympathy vote with the public.

Of course their reaction was out of order,especially Darnells “ugly bitch” and “slut” comments,but Sara also needs to accept some responsibility in terms of how she is around men,i don’t think she does it intentionally as she flirts with everyone,male and female,but its easy to see how Darnell got the signals wrong.

Rachel has made the final week of big brother 9,the last two house mates up are Lisa and Sara,who were put up in a face to face nomination process,it was inevitable really as there names had been discussed in a round a bout way by the others during the past couple of weeks, Rex was laughing all the way through at the predictability of it all,the old b-blockers stuck together to ensure they would all be in the final week.

Only Rachel broke rank,as she nominated Lisa but didnt nominate Sara,she went for Rex,a long over due nomination considering his treatment of her over the past weeks,and it was good to see her still have the bottle do it face to face.

So the penultimate weeks eviction will be either Sara or Lisa,who goes? who cares.

PS: (They both shared 25k in a stupid game that gave them the option of gambling for 50k or sharing 25k each,a pointless twist and pointless game)

Rex’s girlfriend or Nicole as she likes to be called, was evicted with a record 94.04% of the public vote,although she was a certainty to go,the scale of the vote may surprise some of the house mates when they get out. Having spent only 2 weeks in the house she managed to turn herself into the most hated house mate of all time.
